1. Please email Mike Doggett ASAP after you advance so he will have your email address so important information can be sent to you. The judge has requested all cuttings prior to the contest.
2. Please bring all UIL required credentials/documents and check for $500 with you to at the time of your site rehearsal.
3. Please mail your script directly to the judge, be sure to include which contest the script is connected to 4A, Area at Spring High School. If your district contest is 7 days or fewer from the area contest please overnight your script to the judge. Please do NOT require a signature on your overnight delivery.

4. Please ask your students who enter the theater after a performance has already started to sit in the back of the auditorium and not walk all the way down to the front row.
5. Also, remind your company to be SILENT in the lobby of the theatre as sound can go into the theater.
6. The program proof will be emailed to all directors on Tuesday, April 14 you will need to proof your section of the program and email Mike Doggett with any corrections or substitutions by the end of the day on Wednesday, April 15.
7. The online entry system will be open at midnight on each Saturday of each contest week for only school that have advanced so you can make cast and set changes. This will allow you to make substitutions without having to do the sub form. This will also allow your next contest to have accurate information for the program. The entry system will be closed on Monday at midnight.

Approx. Year Adjudicator was first certified: 1/21/1997
BIOGRAPHY: holds the MFA in Acting/Directing from The University of Arizona (Tucson) and the BFA in
Acting from Sam Houston State University. He has acted in over 30 productions including UIL OAP having
performed at the State level twice. His five productions for the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre
Festival have received over 50 collective awards at the state, region and national levels. He has coached five
Irene Ryan Scholarship Regional Acting Finalists including a National Finalist who performed at the Kennedy
Center in Washington, D.C. in 2004. He has been a UIL OAP judge since 1997, served as Chair of the
Adjudicator's Organization and has judged and has judged the State Meet for five conferences. He is an
Associate Professor of Theatre at Austin Community College.

Theatre has been honored with B. Iden Payne award nominations: The Pillowman , The Drawer Boy, The
Sound Of Music . He has also worked as a scenic artist for the Dallas Theater Center, Portland Stage, and
Connecticut Repertory Theater, and as a Scenic and Costume Designer for the Finborough Theater in London,
England. His work has also been seen at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and The Prague Quadrennial. He has
advanced to the State Level with OAP twice with Leander High School's productions of Armitage and
Paganini.

SITE REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
REHEARSAL: Please contact Mike Doggett (contest director) to arrange your rehearsal time as soon as you can after advancing from your bi-district contest. Rehearsal time will not be finalized until all schools have advanced to the contest. Schools that are closest to the contest site or have no or minimal conflicts are encourage to rehearse on Friday, April 17 leaving times for open on Saturday for schools that will not be able to rehearse the day before due to conflicts. All site rehearsal conflicts will be resolved by distance to the contest site.
ALL REHEARSAL TIMES ARE TENTATIVE, UNTIL THE LAST SCHOOL HAS ADVANCED TO THE CONTEST.
(Every effort will be made to give directors their first choice of rehearsal times, school with major conflicts will take priority.)

PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE:
The performance order was done by a blind draw on 11/14/14. The order of performances will run on the hour. The order will be alphabetical using the title of the play, excluding articles. Plays will run on the hour. There might be some short delays to avoid school bell or the end of the school day to avoid noise interruptions to a play.

UNIT SET AND STORAGE
Spring High School will provide the basic UIL set. Schools will need to provide their own window and door units. These units will become part of the host's basic unit set available for all schools to use.
FACILITY INFORMATION
Lights:
There will be 15 areas with a Red, Green, Blue color wash. Cyc available. (you can pick pretty much whatever color you want on the cyc)
Lights will need to be programmed during your 1 hour load in, the board does not have operate manually (no two scene preset)

Sound:
Is controlled from the booth and can play and mix two different C/D's or Plug in your electronic device or computer directly to the board.
Communication:
Wired headsets are available to communicate from the booth to backstage.
Stage:
House seats 830
Stage is 55" wide, 31' 6" deep, Apron is 3' from curtain to lip of stage.
There is a mid traveler which is about 15' from the grand drape.
The wings are plenty big with access to the shop.
Large crossover area behind the back curtain
Dressing room and restrooms backstage right.

Load In/Out:
*Arrive at least 30 minute before your scheduled load in. Keep in mind traffic issues if your time slot is anywhere around the hours of 3 PM and 7 PM. I would plan an extra hour to deal with possible traffic issues.
*You will have one hour to load in and get your set put up and program lights. You might have more time to load in and set the stage will Mr. Munoz is talking to the group before you. This load in and set up will be done as quite as possible as to not disturb the play being critiqued .
*When you arrive at Spring HS text me 361-676-6100 and wait for me to send someone to meet you to show you were to load in - it kind of hard to explain. I will have a student guide you bus and truck to the appropriate place.
*Once your truck or bus has unloaded at the load dock the bus and or truck will relocated to a waiting area until you are read to load up after your show. Keep your bus or truck in the waiting area until called. A school's bus or truck can't stay at the loading dock the entire time of your time slot.
FOOD:
There are several places to eat just across the street from the high school. Sonic, Burger King, Freddy's, Taco Bells, Starbucks, Gringos and also close is Taco Cabana, Golden Corral, Jack in the Box, Pizza Hut, Brother's Pizza, Smashburger, Bullritos (like Chipotle), Popeyes, Golden Bowl Chinese, Firehouse Subs, Chic-fil-a
